Pappy had his first ride in 1945 (at the age of 6) he attributes that ride with his life long relationship with motorcycles. During the 50's he claims to have "Terrorized" south St. Louis on his Cushman Eagle. During the 60's he played around with different makes of bikes, mostly small Japanese, Italian and English models. He got his first Harley in 1970. 

Pappy joined FORR in 1984 at Local 20, he has been a member or FORR since that time with a few breaks along the way returning as a participating member. He is a Certified Safety Instructor & MSF, he was instrumental in starting Local 34 and is the only remaining active original member. He has served as President and CC Rep and along with being Chief Cook and Dishwasher. Pappy was again elected to hold the office of president of Local 34 for 2004.
